Scotland is the home to some of the finest Driven Pheasant shooting in Europe and in the most spectacular scenery in Great Britain . We offer exclusive shooting at one of the most prestigious and much sort after shoots in Scotland . Set in the delightful Angus countryside the castle sits high above the River South Esk, famous for its Salmon and Sea trout fishing. The Estate in Angus, cover some 55,000 acres ranging from the fertile agricultural land in the vale of Strathmore to the heather moorland and mountains of Invermark where the hills rise to 3,000 feet at Mount Keen, Scotland's most easterly "Munro". The shooting here is centered round a series of 3 or 4 day shoots in November and December with 2day shoots in January. The shoot covers some 2,000 acres at Brechin and 3,000 acres on the Edzell Estate, which is five miles away. By any standards it is a fine shoot, particularly as it varies from some unusual and challenging low ground drives, to some spectacular drives on the edge of the hill at Edzell. Shooting is to teams of 6 to 8 guns and some early season shoots are with double guns, loaders provided, with an expectation of 300 to 400 birds per day.
The parties stay as guests of the Lord and Lady of the Castle, an historic private house of great character where the food and drink and conversation are of the highest quality. A range of quality accommodation from comfortable staffed Shooting Lodges to self-catering cottages is available throughout the Estate. Angus is an area rich in culture and history with wonderful walking and wildlife, superb salmon fishing, heather moorlands, and high tops, where red deer herds are to be seen; also fine golf course and majestic coastal scenery |
